|
Magnetic tweezers enable precise manipulation of individual biomolecules such as DNA, RNA, or proteins by applying well-defined forces and torques. In this system, one end of the molecule of interest is anchored to a microscope coverslip, while the other end is attached to a superparamagnetic bead. Controlled movement of external magnets above the sample generates a magnetic field gradient that exerts tension and rotation on the bead, thereby stretching, twisting, or supercoiling the molecules.
