Sequencing

The ABI 3730XL DNA Analyzers are gold-standard capillary electrophoresis instruments, designed for high-throughput DNA sequencing and fragment analysis. Supports Sanger sequencing, genotyping, microsatellite analysis, and mutation detection. Compatible with BigDye® Terminator chemistry and various fragment analysis kits.

Sequencing

The GridION is a flexible, medium-throughput sequencing device with five integrated flow cell positions and onboard high performance compute. It features a simple setup process and requires minimal installation, making it user-friendly and easy to operate.
The GridION is well suited for multiplexed sequencing of small whole genomes, such as viruses, bacteria or small eukaryotic genomes; metagenomics and targeted sequencing.

Sequencing

The Opentrons® OT-2 is a high-precision, open-source liquid handler designed to be easy for scientists to use and flexible enough to automate many application workflows. This robot and its accompanying automation platform are used to automate hundreds of protocols and workflows in genomics, proteomics, cell-based assays, and drug discovery.

Automatic Liquid Handling

BluePippin is for DNA size selection using pulsed-field electrophoresis, collecting high molecular weight DNA. Gel cassettes for DNA selections are available in four agarose concentrations to provide a full range of size selection options between 100bp up to 50kb. Run times are as little as 30 minutes, to resolve very large DNA fragments, pulsed-field runs may last several hours.

Electrophoresis

The Femto Pulse offers an excellent solution for analyzing high molecular weight DNA samples with high accuracy. Tthis system delivers precise quantification and qualification of DNA samples up to 165 kb, crucial for evaluating the quality of long-read sequencing libraries and predicting the average read length in long-read NGS. Detect nucleic acids down to 50 fg/µL, achieving 10 times higher sensitivity for nucleic acid smears and up to 100 times higher for nucleic acid fragments.

Electrophoresis

The Dr. Oligo synthesizer is a high-throughput synthetic chemistry instrument with primary application to automation of phosphoramidite chemistry for synthesis of DNA oligomers. This instrument can produce high-quality synthetic oligonucleotides at a rate of 96 x 20-base length per 2.5-3.0 hour period.

Others

The DNA Pointer System (Kucharczyk), is a dedicated apparatus for native protein electrophoresis. It enables the separation of proteins under non-denaturing conditions, preserving their biological activity and allowing detailed analysis of protein complexes. WormLab is a system for automated tracking and analysis of C. elegans and other nematodes. It records behavioral metrics such as speed, direction, posture, and movement patterns, including coiling, omega bends, and thrashing. The system supports assays involving optogenetic or mechanosensory stimulation and does not require programming skills to operate.

Imaging

The wMicroTracker enables activity measurements of small organisms cultured in liquid medium by using multi-well plates. The system is compatible with most worm strains including wild nematode isolates and parasitic nematodes. Non motile/non-good swimming strains (such as roll or severe unc mutants) are not recommended. The Microtracker can measure worm activity form L1 to older adult for weeks.

CHEF Mapper System from BioRad enables pulsed-field gel electrophoresis for separation of large DNA fragments (from 100 bp up to ~10 Mb).
