Ukrainian research project in IBB PAS
We are pleased to inform that the project proposal of Dr. Anhelina Kyrychenko from Zabolotny Institute of Microbiology and Virology NAS of Ukraine was among 18 projects, selected in the international competition, that will be funded by the U.S. National Academy of Sciences. Dr. Kyrychenko had been invited to Warsaw and awarded a fellowship as a part of the Institute Biochemistry & Biophysics Aid Program for scientists from Ukraine (IBB START).
The project she has received now focuses on development of a new strategy enabling reduction of losses resulting from viral infections of cereals, using environmentally friendly nanobiotechnology approaches. Some of the tasks included in the project proposal will be carried out in the of Plant Pathogenesis Laboratory and Plant and Microbial Biology Laboratory of our Institute.
