The National Contact Point for Research Programmes of the EU (NCP) supports the participation of Polish research units, enterprises and other entities in the Horizon Europe programme. NCP experts present the Polish position at the meetings of programme committees and other bodies related to the implementation of the EU’s scientific and innovation policy. The NCP closely cooperates with the Office in Brussels and participates in key events and consultations regarding the Horizon Europe programme.

The Polish Science Contact Agency promotes, facilitates and fosters participation of the entire Polish R&D community in European projects and initiatives, and in particular in reinforcing the position of Poland in European Union framework programmes.
EURAXES Poland publishes the latest grant offers available to PhD candidates and scientists both based in Poland and interested in coming to our country. The offers include various funding sources: Polish research funding organisations, as well as European and international programmes. The list is published in the first week of each month.
The ERC’s mission is to encourage the highest quality research in Europe through competitive funding and to support investigator-driven pioneering research across all fields, on the basis of scientific excellence. The ERC complements other funding activities in Europe such as those of the national research funding agencies, and is a flagship component of Horizon Europe, the European Union’s Research Framework Programme for 2021 to 2027.

EMBO stands for excellence in the life sciences. EMBO is an organization of more than 1800 leading researchers that promotes excellence in the life sciences in Europe and beyond. The major goals of the organization are to support talented researchers at all stages of their careers, stimulate the exchange of scientific information, and help build a research environment where scientists can perform optimal work.
The Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP) promotes international collaboration in basic research focused on the elucidation of the sophisticated and complex mechanisms of living organisms. The Human Frontier Science Program is a program for funding pioneering research in the life sciences.
NCN is a government agency, supervised by the Ministry of Education and Science, set up in 2011 to support basic research in Poland. Basic research is defined as empirical or theoretical endeavours undertaken to obtain new knowledge of the foundations of phenomena and observable facts, without any direct commercial use.
The National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) is an executive agency. NCBR is a centre for supporting and developing innovative technological and social solutions, creating an ecosystem of knowledge of, and information about, innovation. It organises and implements undertakings contributing to the development of the country.
NAWA is a new institution that was established on October 1st, 2017. It is set up to coordinate state activities driving the process of internationalization of Polish academic and research institutions. The mission of NAWA is to foster the development of Poland in the area of science and higher education.
International cooperation and exchange are important elements of academic activity. The ministry negotiates and implements international agreements and contracts, provides Polish students, scientists and lecturers with various academic exchange opportunities, and supports internationalization of Polish universities.

European Founds – PO WER
The Foundation for Polish Science has been in operation since 1991. It is a non-governmental, non-political, non-profit institution which pursues the mission of supporting science. It is the largest source of science funding in Poland outside of the state budget. The main motto of FNP is “Supporting the best, so that they can become even better”.
The first call for applications in the PASIFIC Postdoctoral Fellowships Programme for excellent researchers at the Polish Academy of Sciences is now open.
The PASIFIC programme offers attractive 2-year postdoctoral fellowships to excellent researchers of any nationality, working in any scientific discipline. Each PASIFIC fellow will be granted a monthly allowance of approx. €2,500 net and, if applicable, an additional family allowance. In addition, PASIFIC fellows will be provided with a research budget of up to €93,000 per project.
The mission of the Polpharma Scientific Foundation is to support the development of pharmaceutical and medical sciences by financing scientific research in these fields. The main goal of the foundation is to finance research projects of exceptional importance for the development of medicine and pharmacy, undertaken by academic research centres and research and development institutions.
