IBB DAY 2023

This year’s IBB DAY took place on October 13, giving us the opportunity to spend time together and to acknowledge those who have contributed to the development of IBB.
Director Dr. hab. Róża Kucharczyk gave a welcome speech during which she presented some data on the IBB’s functioning over the past year.
Next, diplomas were awarded to the authors of the best doctoral theses who received their degrees during the previous year: Dr. Damian Garbicz (thesis supervisor: Prof. Elżbieta Grzesiuk), Dr. Radosław Kotuniak (thesis supervisor: Prof. Wojciech Bal) and Dr. Aleksandra Tymoszewska (thesis supervisor: Dr. hab. Tamara Aleksandrzak-Piekarczyk).

This year, Prof. Ewa Kula-Świeżewska is leaving the position of Head of the IBB Doctoral School. Director Dr. hab. Roman Szczęsny and Klaudia Kołodziejczyk, Chair of the PhD Student Council, thanked her on behalf of our entire community for her involvement in student affairs over the past years. We also had the opportunity to welcome the new Head of the Doctoral School – Dr. hab. Anna Muszewska.
The IBB Directors also presented diplomas and statuettes to long-time former IBB employees, in recognition of their contributions to the development of the Institute.

The authors of the best posters of the IBB Scientific Session 2023 were presented diplomas by Dr. hab. Izabela Kern-Zdanowicz. Four equal prizes were awarded to: Jan Mikołajczyk, Emil Stefańczyk, Agata Szczepańska and Marta D. Wiśniewska.
Then Prof. Wojciech Bal, Chair of the IBB Scientific Council, and Prof. Dariusz Plewczyński, Chair of the IBB Scientific Council Awards Committee, together with Director Roman Szczęsny, presented awards to the authors of the best research papers published by IBB PAS researchers in 2022:
