Beyond 2000

After 2000, the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS was developing dynamically, becoming one of the leading research centers in Poland and Europe. Poland’s accession to the European Union in 2004 facilitated participation in European research projects and other EU-funded initiatives. As a result, the Institute has developed multiple international collaborations and has been awarded significant funding for research development. The Institute’s key achievements include advances in genomic research, bioinformatics, biotechnology, the molecular basis of biological processes and the development of genetic disease models. International cooperation, state-of-the-art research infrastructure and participation in global research projects have contributed to a significant increase in the prestige of IBB PAS in the global scientific arena.
