The Committee of Molecular Cell Biology of the Polish Academy of Sciences has awarded prizes and distinctions for publications from the year 2024.

In the Prof. Kazimierz Bassalik competition for the best experimental work in the field of microbiology carried out in a Polish laboratory, the work of a team led by Dr. hab. Agata Starosta from IBB PAS received the award:

Iwańska O, Latoch P, Kopik N, Kovalenko M, Lichocka M, Serwa R, Starosta AL. Translation in Bacillus subtilis is spatially and temporally coordinated during sporulation. Nature Communications, 2024 (doi: 10.1038/s41467-024-51654-6).

In the Prof. Włodzimierz Krzyżosiak competition for experimental work in the field of nucleic acid research carried out in a Polish laboratory, an honorable mention was awarded to a publication which was co-authored by Szymon Świeżewski from IBB PAS while the corresponding author is Dr. hab. Michał Małecki from the Institute of Genetics and Biotechnology, Faculty of Biology, University of Warsaw:
