School of Molecular Biology

Doctoral studies named ‘School of Molecular Biology’ (SBM) were conducted at the Institute of Biochemistry and Biophysics PAS from 1996 to 2024. According to the Act (Introductory provisions of the Act – Law on higher education and science), the doctoral studies were closed as of 31.12.2024.

Our doctoral programme was called the (doctoral) School even before this new doctoral training mode was established, so we think (immodestly) that we are ahead of our time!

In accordance with the above-mentioned Act, individual processes of obtaining PhD degree in old mode were closed on 31.12.2024.
The new procedure for obtaining the doctoral degree is called the procedure for awarding the doctoral degree.

Currently, all doctoral degrees at the IBB are awarded in this mode.

Doctoral training at IBB PAN currently takes place within two doctoral schools (new mode):

• The Doctoral School of Molecular Biology and Biological Chemistry.
• The Doctoral School of Translational Medicine “Bench to Bedside – B 2 B 4 PhD”.
