IBB Scientific Session 2023

The IBB Scientific Session took place at the Institute on October 10-12, 2023. During three intensive days, all IBB research groups had a chance to present their current work.
The session was divided into seven thematic parts, during which the leaders of research groups presented recently completed and ongoing projects. The IBB researchers, students and co-workers used the opportunity to engage in discussions with the speakers. We hope that the session will contribute to an increase in collaborative projects among IBB research groups.

An important event of the Scientific Session was the poster session. Ninety posters were presented, authored by IBB doctoral students and researchers.
The four best posters, presented by Jan Mikolajczyk, Emil Stefańczyk, Agata Szczepańska and Marta D. Wiśniewska, received equal prizes.

Congratulations to the authors!

The session ended with a summary presented by the Deputy Director of Science, Dr. Roman Szczęsny, during which IBB’s research areas were presented:

⦁ Genome maintenance & expression
⦁ Molecular basis of human diseases & therapeutic approaches
⦁ Identification & optimisation of applicable biological processes
⦁ Cellular stress responses & host-pathogen interactions
⦁ Chemistry & biophysics of cellular processes
⦁ Bioinformatics & systems biology
⦁ Biological & chemical basis of polar ecosystems

The IBB Scientific Sessions are held every 2 years and are an important event for the entire community.
