With deep sorrow we inform you that on April 29, 2024 , Prof. dr hab. Jarosław Kuśmierek passed away. Professor Kuśmierek was a long-term Head of the Laboratory of Molecular Biology and a Vice-Chairman of the IBB PAS’ Scientific Council.

Professor Kuśmierek was an outstanding chemists specializing in the chemistry and biochemistry of nucleic acids.

For many, he was an invaluable Mentor and a Friend.

A secular funeral ceremony will take place on 9 May 2024 at 11.00 a.m. in the Funeral Home at the Powązki Military Cemetery.

The family of the deceased requests that, in accordance with his wishes, no flowers be brought to the ceremony. Instead, please make donations to the Bread of Life Community – a collection box will be on display during the ceremony.
