In mid-March 2025, the Assembly of Directors of Research Institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences has expressed its opinion on the PAS reform project published by the PAS President. They called for more partnership in the treatment of the Institutes and for a broad debate that would lead to a new consensus of the scientific community on the PAS reform.

In response, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education (MNiSW) has initiated talks with PAS authorities, directors of institutes and a trade union representation. The Deputy Minister of Science Karolina Zioło-Pużuk has informed that MNiSW will withdraw the current version of the bill and a specially appointed 12-member team will work on new proposals.
